However, secrecy about their mission, furious battles with evil thugs, extreme fatigue, and stress and pressure soon overwhelm the boys, but they must find a way to embrace their fate. A lurking, Dark Stranger seems to know their plight, and a strikingly beautiful, fearless girl lends way to heightened confusion. Shocking details about these two characters, and the evil antagonist, the dreaded Druth, twist and grind the story even further.

What I thought:
This is the best YA paranormal I have read in a long time. Urban Boys hooks you from the very beginning; you’re drawn in and can’t wait to see what happens next. And its so original and creatively written. A group of teenage boys with superpowers is already awesome, but the heightened senses part is what really intrigued me. Also, the writing was so descriptive and the character development was wonderful.
Dislikes? Basically, just the fact that it ended. I really enjoyed it. And even though it is YA, I’m sure there are many adults out there that will enjoy it. Even if they don’t typically read YA.
I give The Urban Boys 4.5 stars. Highly recommended.
